Surrey Hills Tour Company

Spring Vintage Bus Tour Feature

Read on Getsurrey.co.uk

If you’re keen to explore the Surrey Hills from a unique perspective, you can board a vintage red bus made famous on TV and experience the best that Surrey has to offer. This double decker bus has appeared in Blitz, The Crown and Miss Marple, and now has a very important job showing off Surrey’s most beautiful views.

Surrey tours have previously included workshops such as truffle making, soy candle pouring and canape crafting. Guests of the tours can then take their new skills and impress guests with perfect culinary dishes.

The Surrey Hills Tour Company is the go to for a day out in Surrey, you don’t need to be a tourist from further afield to enjoy everything it has to offer. Furthermore, whether it’s rain or shine, there’s plenty to be kept busy with during the experience.

Based in Dorking, the tour leaves from Dorking mainline train station, and includes a host of new activities, an informative guide, a ride on the vintage red bus and a two course lunch.

This year, a new addition to the tour is an exciting trip to a hidden gem of a hotel dating all the way back to the 17th-century. There’s a resident beekeeper, who will share their secrets behind their sustainable honey production.

You can also enjoy a coffee paired with a slice of their signature honey cake. A master chocolatier will then teach guests how to make truffles, along with piping and adding toppings, and a gift box to take them home in.

There will be a two course lunch at an Italian restaurant with a selection of dishes, followed by a sourdough pizza making course. This will be taught by an Italian chef, divulging how to create the most stunning Neapolitan pizzas. The bus will then pass through Shere, showing off some of Surrey’s prettiest chocolate box houses.

Those aboard the bus can enjoy stunning views of the Surrey Hills, on the way to visit a home décor and furniture work shop. There will also be a glass of Kir Royal and bubbles by the river.

To end the day on a high, the bus will pass through England’s largest vineyard, with gorgeous views of the countryside. You can learn all about the wine making process, and enjoy a glass of their finest bubbles too.

In the summer, the Surrey Hills Tours Company also organise narrowboat tours, offering canal views, the opportunity to try skippering, and a welcome glass of champagne with strawberries. The boat moors alongside a riverside pub for a two course lunch. On the way back there is typically an afternoon tea and cake on the river.

The Surrey Hills Tour Company has a fleet of exquisite vehicles, of course including their famous vintage buses, classic cars and narrowboats. The team also have a selection of luxury cars and mountain bikes.
